PCMS swimmers open 2024-25 year in Tifton

TIFTON — Pierce County Middle School’s swim teams splashed into the season, competing in a six-team meet here Thursday afternoon.

Aly Yeomans recorded the Lady Bears’ best finish at the October 24 event placing fifth in the 50 fly event with a time of 45.56 seconds. No other information was provided.

The Bears placed third in the field. Individually, Jax Coates, Hutson Streat and Cooper Davis recorded top finishes with third-place showings.

Cox was third in the 100 IM with a personal-best time of 1:31.77. He was also third in the 50 breaststroke, clocking a time of 41.55 seconds. Streat was third in the 50 fly with a time of 45.99 seconds. Davis placed third in the 50 breaststroke logging a time of 42.38 seconds.

PCMS’s 200 free style relay team of Streat, Dow Walker, Coates and Davis placed third in the 200 free style relay event with a time of 2:30.05. The foursome also placed third in the 200 medley relay event with a time of 2:50.04.

Davis finished fourth in the 50 freestyle recording a time of 30.71 seconds. Streat posted a sixth-place showing in the 50 breaststroke.

PCMS hosted a meet Monday, October 28 at the YMCA.
