Cord of 3 Fore the Family golf tournament raises $27,782

Net first place winners from Beach Timber, Landon Scott, Patrick Arrington and Dusty Pate, donated their winnings back to CO3. Not pictured are gross first place winners from FNB South including Ricky Gilliard, Jimmy Miles, Ashley Medders and Andy Cothern.

Cord of 3 (CO3) recently held their 17th Annual Fore the Family golf tournament at Lakeview Golf Course in Blackshear. Over 100 sponsors, participants and volunteers took to the fairways to partner with Cord of 3 to protect and preserve God’s design for the family.

“God has blessed us to have another great event, perfect weather, and a great time of fellowship. All of our sponsors, players, and volunteers make this event a huge success,” said CO3 Executive Director Clay Gill.

Gill said the event was a success thanks to key sponsors: The Beasley Group of Hazlehurst, Thornton Plumbing of Blackshear, the Thrift Brothers of Waycross, Whitestar Electric of Waycross, Satilla Animal Hospital (Dr. Hank and Anna Wheeler), and Lewis & Raulerson Friendly Express of Waycross and one anonymous sponsor.

All proceeds from the tournament will be used to serve families, youth, and individuals who God lines up with the ministry of Cord of 3. Since 2007, the Fore the Family Golf Tournament has made a significant impact, supporting families in our nine county region. Because of this year’s golf tournament, Cord of 3 will be able to offer an additional 293 hours of services through their Family Fund.

Throughout the day, players faced an array of on-course challenges and had a chance to win some big prizes. Walker Jones provided several hole-inone prizes on the Par 3 holes: a 2024 Chevy Silverado, 1 year supply of Bridgestone golf balls, Cuater by Travis Mathew clothing and Revo Sunglasses valued at $900. In addition, over $4,000 in cash prizes were given away. Beach Timber Company received a special thank you from Cord of 3 for donating back their winnings.

Hooves to Freedom and Jeremiah’s Promise also joined in the tournament this year. CO3 always look forward to partnering with other nonprofits in our area.

“Once again, we see firsthand how God is at work in His kingdom. God has blessed us to serve many families over the years that we have been serving this community,” said Gill. “We are thankful for the radical generosity of everyone who participated and helped make this event successful.”

Cord of 3 is a nonprofit ministry whose sole focus is to protect and preserve the God-ordained institution of the family. CO3 accomplish this through counseling, discipleship, training, church and business alliance programs and more.

A recent client said about the help they received, “Cord of 3 truly saved my life! Taught me so much and sitting in that seat corrected my ways, but never made me feel any less of a person! We make mistakes daily, but it is taking action to correct the wrong each day! I loved my counselor and still implement what Cord of 3 taught me each day.”
