Lady Bears fall to Brantley County in region play

The Lady Bears Varsity Softball Team lost to Brantley County 4-2 last Tuesday (Aug. 23).

The offense was led by Kylie Allen, LizAnn Hughes and Rachel Cason all with two hits.

As a team the Lady Bears had 11 hits and again played an error free defense.

“We just couldn’t get the big hit,” said Coach Tyler Rogers.

The Lady Bears left 10 runners on base in the game.

Kadence Godwin started the game throwing three innings, with six hits (H), one base on balls (BB) and six strikeouts (K), giving up three earned runs.

Lauren Edgar came on in relief and threw four innings, with five H, no BB, two K’s, giving up one earned run.

The Lady Bears were unable to play their scheduled game against Appling last Thursday (Aug. 25), due to inclement weather.

A make-up game has been scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, September 6. Only the varsity team will play at this date and time.
