Memorial Satilla encourages women to make their health a priority

Memorial Satilla Health of Waycross will offer Saturday hours, 8 a.m.- noon for mammogram appointments in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month during the month of October.

Breast cancer remains one of the most common cancers affecting women, but with early screening and advancements in medical care, survival rates continue to improve. One in eight women in the US will develop invasive breast cancer. Regular mammograms can reduce breast cancer mortality by 20-40 percent in women 40 and older.

“We encourage all women to prioritize their health by scheduling regular mammograms and performing self-exams. Early detection saves lives, and we are here to support you every step of the way,” said Brenda O’Steen, VP of Operations at Memorial Satilla.

“As we observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we stand together in support of those affected by breast cancer — patients, survivors, families, and friends. Our team is committed to providing compassionate care and support for early detection in the fight against this disease,” said Dale Neely, CEO.
