Pierce County High School Head Football Coach Ryan Herring and Defensive Coordinator Swain Morris spoke to the Blackshear Rotary Club this week, giving an overview of the football program. In Herring's opinion 'football is won from the neck up.' He talked about the important of a strong family dynamic and G3 - Give God Glory. Herring is thankful for a 'great community, great people and great support' for the program he leads. Coach Morris discussed the team's control of the game. 'We have great kids in Pierce County,' he said. The athletes work six days a week, but football isn't the only thing they work to perfect. The coaching staff is invested in molding the student athletes into good citizens as well. The Blackshear Rotary Club meets weekly at J. Leonard’s on Main.
