BEARVILLE — Carley Sloan twirled a complete game, five-hit shutout in pitching PCHS past the Lady Hornets.

Sloan needed 114 pitches to finish what she started. She finished with nine strikeouts, three walks and uncorked one wild pitch.

The Lady Bears broke a scoreless tie with a three-run third. Parker Sinclair ended a stretch of seven consecutive batters retired working a one-out, seven-pitch walk.

Bella Delaney’s (1-for-2) two-out base hit kept the inning alive. After a walk to Olivia Bennett (1-for-2) loaded the bases, Alyssa Crump’s fly ball to left was misplayed into a two-base error allowing all three base runners to score for a 3-0 lead.

PCHS added an insurance run in the fifth. Delaney drew a two-out, four-pitch walk, stole second and scored on Bennett’s single to right.
