Three Rivers Regional Library System (TRRLS) Director Clint Moxley has been placed on administrative leave and Pat Herndon has been appointed interim director.
Jim Cote, chairman of the TRRLS regional board of trustees, confirmed the personnel decisions last week.
Herndon is a former assistant state librarian working with State Librarian Julie Walker. Since her retirement, she has worked as an Interim Director for Jefferson County Regional Library.
Herndon will be working part time as allowed by TRS (Teacher Retirement System) rules. She has years of experience with a wide variety of library systems.
“We are excited to have (Herndon) as part of the team at TRRLS,” said Cote.
The decisions come a week after an investigation was opened into misuse of public funds in the TRRLS.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been called in to investigate the case.
