Wayne O’Quinn, 75, of Blackshear, passed away late Saturday night, October 5, 2024, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross following an extended illness.
Born September 25, 1949, in Jesup, he was the youngest child of the late Lloyd Russ ell O’Quinn and Dollie Swindel O’Quinn Morgan. He lived most of his life in Blackshear and graduated from Blackshear High School in 1967. He was a longtime self-employed electrician with B&W Electric and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
During the years of raising his children, he enjoyed being a little league coach with the Pierce County Recreation Department.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jason Wayne O’Quinn and his brother and sister-in-law, William Russell and Bobbie O’Quinn.
Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer Simpson, Blackshear; grandson, Matthew Simpson, Carrollton; two sisters, Elaine Moody (husband Stanley) and Donna Tanner (husband Frank), both of Blackshear; special friends, Joey Carter, Ray Martin and Helen Logan, all of Blackshear

and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 12, from the chapel of Hart Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Interment will follow in Blackshear City Cemetery.
