Albert Lee Walker, 80, of Waycross, died Sunday morning, September 22, 2024, at his residence, after a brief illness.
He was born in Blackshear to the late Albert Jackson Walker and Lucille Rigdon Walker and made Ware and Pierce Counties his home for most of his life. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a master carpenter, his skills can still be viewed today as he was a member of the team that built Epcot at Disneyworld. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, grilling and any activities that kept him outdoors.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Katie Walker; a grandson, Joseph Manning and a brother, Robert Walker.
Survivors include his son, Michael Walker, wife Tatum, Waycross; five grandchildren, Dalton Walker, wife Janet, Zachary Walker, Emily Page Stalvey, Andrew Stalvey and Colby Stalvey, all of Waycross; a great-grandson, Cameron Michael Walker and many more great -randchildren; three sisters, Tina Thomas, husband C.L., of Tennessee, Frances Rigdon of Minnesota and Juanita Roundtree of Florida and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Memorialization was by cremation.
The family will hold a private burial in the Shiloh Cemetery in Blackshear.
