A public hearing will be held next month to receive input on a zoning change at U.S. Highway 84 in Patterson.
The 0.69 acre tract is located between Circle K and Dollar General.
The hearing will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, October 10, at Patterson City Hall, Eagle Station, on Williams Street in Patterson. A public notice on the hearing is included in today’s edition of The Times.
The Pierce County Planning Commission has given its approval to the change from single family residential to commercial.
The planning commission voted 3-0 at their regular meeting Sept. 9, to recommend approval of the zoning change.
Final approval will be up to the Patterson City Council since the tract is in the City of Patterson.
MDM Services, Inc., a Lakeland, FL, based engineering and construction company, made the application for the zoning change. MDM Services, Inc. reportedly does engineering work for Circle K stores.
The zoning applications calls for the addition of fuel pumps, canopy, retention pond and circulation surface on the property. The tract will then, reportedly, become part of the Circle K store at the corner of U.S. Highway 84 and Main Street.
There is currently a brick home on the property. The home will be removed as part of the renovations at the site.
