Willard Sauls, 83, of Mershon, died Saturday

morning, September 21, 2024, at his residence, following an extended illness.
Born June 16, 1941, in Blackshear, he was a son of the late William Thomas Sauls Sr. and Ruby Mary Westberry Sauls. He lived in Brantley County for many years until moving back to Pierce County in 1999.
He was a remarkable person with a rich and fulfilling life. He was a carpenter and builder by trade and working with his hands gave him a great sense of accomplishment. He had a love for nature and the outdoors and a passion for gardening, hunting and fishing. He was a loving father and grandfather and created many cherished memories with his family.
He was a truly special person who touched many lives. His family, including his children and grandchildren, will miss him deeply. Friends, neighbors and anyone who had the privilege of knowing him will also feel his absence.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann Sauls; his daughter, Mary Elizabeth Sauls; a brother, William Thomas Sauls Sr. and a sister, Elizabeth Thelma Sauls.
Survivors include six children, Curtis Sauls (wife Tish), Mershon, Bill Sauls (wife Debbie), Offerman, Vince Price (wife Connie), Adrian, Lori Hudson (husband Dale), Wrightsville, Leonard Trotter (wife Wendy), Jacksonville, FL, and Susan Kitchens (husband Michael), Wrightsville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister, Mary Ann Sauls Strickland, Eastman; and two brothers, Robert Sauls (wife Louise) and Donnie Sauls (wife Betty Ann), both of Blackshear and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A memorial service will take place at a later date.
