Eason
Bayne Eason, 77, of Blackshear, passed away Sunday evening, September 15, 2024, at his residence.
Born in Surrency March 29, 1947, he lived in Pierce County most of his adult life. He was a truck driver and of the Christian faith. He loved to hunt, fish and camp on the Altamaha River and also enjoyed saltwater fishing. He loved dirt track racing and had his own busin ess, Eason Motors Racing, where he built racecar motors.
He was a son of the late Abe Gaulden and Myrtice Fulton Eason. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Paulette Evelyn Larsen Eason, who passed away August 11, 2024; a son, Wayne Eason; four sisters, Clara Tillman, Annie Lou Westberry, Ruby Morris and Earlene Westberry and four brothers, Lee, Joe, Clayton and Jake Eason.
Survivors include his sons, Gerome Eason, Blackshear, Ricky Eason, Odum, Brennan Eason, Jesup and Shannon David (Jan) Strickland, Bristol; a daughter-in-law, Cyndi Eason, Odum; five sisters, Linda Lane and Birdie Woods both of Jesup, Helen Robbins, Ellijay, Carolyn Norman, Blackshear and Cathy Bryant, Jacksonville, FL; two brothers, Avery (Linda) Eason, Grovetown and Abe “Sam” (Kim) Eason, Jacksonville, FL; nine grandchildren, Tyler Watkins, Gerniee (Zach) Saylor, Quetin Eason, Jacob Eason, Romey Eason, Frankie Eason, Bayne Eason, Landon Eason and Sasha Eason; seven greatgrandchildren, Eli Watkins, Anna Jade Watkins, Brayden Sweat, Bailey Bryant, Baylen Eason, Gatlen Saylor and Grason Saylor and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, from the Pearson- Dial Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment followed in the Bristol Cemetery.
