Hwy. 32 closed due to DOT up-grades

Motorists in Patterson are asked to be aware of a detour slated to be in place through this Friday, Sept. 20.

According to Jill Nagel with the Georgia Department of Transportation, work began earlier this week on the eastbound lanes of Georgia Highway 32, just north of the traffic light with U.S. Highway 84.

The road is being closed for concrete rehab, which aims to improve the safety and quality of the road.

The westbound lanes of Georgia Highway 32 toward Bristol will remain open.

An official detour route for the eastbound lanes will utilize Georgia Highway 15/121 in Bristol to Blackshear and U.S. Highway 84 in Blackshear to Patterson.

All work is weathercontingent. If the work is completed ahead of schedule, the roadway will reopen early, but it could be closed longer if weather delays the work.
