Memorial Satilla Health’s Sleep Center has maintained accreditation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) for 10 consecutive years, demonstrating its commitment to providing high-quality care for people with sleep problems.

The AASM is a medical society for physicians, researchers and other health care professionals in the field of sleep medicine. AASM-accredited sleep centers provide diagnostic and therapeutic care for people who have problems related to sleep and alertness. Sleep disorders include obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy.

Olson. “AASM accreditation is the gold standard for sleep care, giving patients confidence and peace of mind when they seek help for a sleep disorder.”
To receive and maintain accreditation for a fiveyear period, a sleep center must meet or exceed all standards for professional health care as designated by the AASM. These standards address core areas such as personnel, facility and equipment, policies and procedures, data acquisition, patient care and quality assurance. Additionally, the sleep center’s goals must be clearly stated and include plans for positively affecting the quality of medical care in the community it serves.
Memorial Satilla’s sleep center is directed by Dr. Manel D. Nayak, and is located at 1900 Tebeau St in Waycross.
