A gathering of Christian women attending a special praise session of Waycross Aglow Lighthouse at Our Beloved Church on Osceola avenue, were told by their director Rosalind Eskew, “You are being celebrated today. The joy of our Lord is our strength.’’
This complimenting message set the tone for the special morning as “It was a time of fellowship, praise and worship. Also, we shared testimonies of how God is touching our lives or things He is teaching us in our walk with Him at this particular time,’’ Mrs. Eskew said.
The ladies were further encouraged by Mrs. Eskew who said, ‘’I cannot be discouraged, He will answer. When we value what Jesus Christ has done for us, rather than what people have done to us we will prosper in our soul.’’
Mrs. Eskew explained, “The power of others’ testimonies encourages our hearts, giving us peace, comfort and assurance of God’s love and faithfulness.’’ Irene Arnold told her friends, “Psalms 62 is so important to me. I stand silently to listen to the one I love—cherishing his wraparound presence. He always protects me so why do I let worry bother me? God alone is my safe place; His wraparound glory.’’
“Jesus Christ is my savior, my hero and my strength. Pour out all your troubles and He will help you. All the love you need is found in Him. And, in a letter to the American church, Christians can no longer be silent,’’ Mrs. Arnold said.
Adding to the inspirational gathering, talented musician/guitarist Melanie Hauner accompanied everyone as they sang songs of praise and worship. These included “God Is So Good to Me,’’ and “I Will Sing of the Goodness of God.’’
Emily Aguirre accompanied the music with a tambourine.
Prayers were offered by those attending. A delicious banquet lunch of barbecue, chicken and tasty southern foods.
