Jimmy Cannon Jr., long-time local business owner, passed away Monday, Sept. 2. He was 84.
Cannon started his career at Blalock’s Body & Wrecker Services. He owned Cannon’s Body Shop & Wrecker Services from 1974 to the mid-1980s. He then worked for Lumber Transport in Cochran from 1981-1997 and also owned J&J Trucking. Cannon also owned Cannon & Sons until he retired in 2022. He enjoyed working on auto vehicles and diesel trucks.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 7, from the Youmans Chapel Baptist Church.
