Rountree
Doris Elizabeth Aldridge Rountree, 85, of Patterson, passed away Friday morning, September 6, 2024, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House in Waycross, following a short illness.
Born July 28, 1939, in Black-shear, she was a daughter of the late Isham Aldridge Jr. and America Linda Gill Aldridge. Living all her life in Pierce County, she was a 1958 graduate of Black shear High School. She retired from the Pierce County Board of Education following a long career as a paraprofessional, having worked at Ware Street Ele mentary School, Blackshear Elementary School and Patterson Elementary School.
She was a member of Patterson Baptist Church and attended the Grace Sunday School Class.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Aubrey Rountree; two sisters, Cathleen Aldridge Page and Ruthie Sapp and six brothers, Isham Leroy Aldridge, William Robert Aldridge, Clarence Aldridge, Lewis Allen Aldridge, Harvey Lloyd Aldridge and Grady Eugene Aldridge.
Survivors include her son, Michael Harold Rountree (Tina King), Blackshear; daughter, Mary Rountree Lee (husband Scott), Patterson; four grandchildren, Allen Harold Rountree, Savannah, Brandi Elizabeth R. Martin (husband Patrick), Jesup, Joshua Lee (wife Erin), Clyo and Ashley Davis (husband Kyle), Macon; five great grandchildren, Piper and Freya Martin, Landon Edwards, Grayson Lee and Edward Davis; two brothers, James Lonnie Aldridge (wife Vera), Jacksonville, FL and Walter Ander Aldridge, Blackshear and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9, from the Patterson Baptist Church with the Rev. Vance Colley officiating.
Interment will follow at Laura Chapel Cemetery.
