It was a good week for Pierce County High cross country, with many runners achieving personal records for the season, said Coach LeighAnne Hersey.
The team traveled to Jeff Davis High School for the South Georgia Cross Country Championship.
Varsity girls came in first among regional competitors, beating Vidalia for the first time.
Varsity boys placed fifth in the region, but beat Appling and Toombs.
Dylan Hersey was the fastest runner for the varsity boys with 20:34 on the clock.
Natalie Daniels led the varisty girls with a time of 24:18.60.
Pierce girls placed ninth overall.
Pierce boys placed 18th overall.
Next on the calendar for PCHS cross country is the Bulldog Invitational at Lyons County High in Toombs County, scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 22.
