PCMS FFA holding Mum sale The Pierce County Middle School Chapter of the Future Farmers of America is holding a mum sale from now through Sept. 27.

Mums come in an 8 inch pot and are $12 each.

Senior center hosting vaccine event Thurs.

A burst of fall vaccine event will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 14, at the Pierce County Senior Center. The center is located at 711 Hendry Street, Blackshear.

Health care providers will be on hand to administer the COVID vaccine and flu vaccine.

Lots of fun and games will also be available including bingo, dancing and complimentary hand massages.

Seniors are asked to bring their insurance cards.

The event is sponsored by the senior center and the Aging and Disability Vaccination Collaborative and USAging. For information, please call (912) 449-0145.

AmVets to meet Sept. 14 The C.C. Stephens Am-Vets Post 621 will meet Saturday, Sept. 14, at the post on Ossie Davis Parkway in Waycross. AmVets is open to retired veterans in the area. The meeting will be at 9 a.m. The new AmVet Riders Chapter will meet at 10 a.m. and the ladies auxiliary group will meet at 11 a.m. The chapter meets on the second Saturday of each month. Daylily society meets Sept. 17

The South Georgia Daylily Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, at the First Baptist Church in Blackshear.

Tim Bell will be the guest speaker as the society resumes meeting after the summer recess. Bell generally brings daylilies to sell. Those attending are asked to please bring a dish to share for supper.
