Pierce County Chamber of Commerce hosted a special Aug 29 Wake Up Pierce event, featuring a presentation by Webb Elvington, Market Relations Manager for St. Joseph’s/Candler Health Systems of Southeast Georgia.
Elvington introduced Dr. Jeyanthi Pamanarayanan, Nurse Practitioner Tiffany Harkleroad and other key members of the Lewis Cancer and Research Pavillion, a cooperative oncology treatment center run in partnership with Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup and serving all the communities in the surrounding area, including Pierce County.
Following the introductions, Elvington briefly outlined the partnerships goal of providing quality cancer treatments, including chemotherapy and blood-related infusion services in an accessible location. He also outlined transportation services and other ways the partnership with Wayne will help patients and patients’ families living with cancer.
After the presentation, members of the local business community members and health care providers enjoyed breakfast from Chick-fil-A.
