The monthly WayGreen’s Local Fare Market will be this Saturday, Sept. 7. A shrimp and seafood vendor (B & S Shrimp & Seafood) as well as a goat cheese vendor (Grateful Hill Farm) will be added to the lineup for Saturday’s market. Vendors for the market will be found both inside and outside at the Okefenokee Heritage Center, 1460 N Augusta Ave in Waycross. The hours for the market are 10 a.m.1 p.m. and the event is always free and open to the public.
WayGreen Local Fare Market welcomes SNAP/EBT (food stamp) customers and with a grant through Wholesome Wave of Georgia can double benefits for fresh fruits and vegetables. When SNAP/EBT customers use their cards to purchase approved items they will also receive tokens to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables for free.
