Fandrich leaps above the netting

We got Spirit How about you? Friday’s are a big deal in Pierce County, because that is when fans young and old get ready to cheer on their favorite Bears! Pierce County High School football players and cheerleaders visited Blackshear Elementary School (BES) last Friday to get some of the county’s young Bears fans fired up for not just the game, but for physical education and school spirit as well. The usual spirit items were on sale, including t-shirts and temporary tattoos, but some Bears boosters will always go above and beyond. For instance, look at Rajenaye Summerset (left), a 4th grade student at Blackshear Elementary, showing off her team spirit in a special skirt that she customized herself to read “Go Bears!” Even the cubs look fierce in Bear Country!

Pierce County’s Hannah Fandrich (12) skies above the netting to hit a dink shot over two Brantley County defenders as head coach Robbie Spires looks on from the sideline during Tuesday’s home match with the Lady Herons. PCHS needed three sets to win the match. The Lady Bears have won eight straight matches to improve to 11-1. For more sports turn to Page 6.
