Pierce County’s Lady Bears’ volleyball team stretched its schoolrecord winning streak to eight matches winning five times last week.
PCHS (11-1) opened the busy week Monday, August 19 knocking off visiting Frederica Academy 25-11, 25-15, 25-19.
The Lady Bears followed with a sweep Tuesday, August 20 over Region 3 opponent Appling County and Brantley County. Pierce County handed the Lady Pirates a 25-10, 25-15 setback.
PCHS needed three sets to beat the Lady Herons winning 25-11, 23-25, 153 to complete the season sweep. Pierce County won the August 12 meeting 2624, 25-11, 25-16 in Caney Bay.
The Lady Bears finished off the week Thursday, August 22 with straight set wins against region members Cook and Crisp County in Adel. PCHS beat the Lady Hornets 25-14, 25-15 and the Lady Cougars 25-13, 2523.
Pierce County hosted Wayne County Tuesday (August 27) and travels to Richmond Hill Thursday (August 29) to face the Lady Wildcats and Tift County.
The Lady Bears travel Monday, September 5 to Reidsville to face region host Tattnall County and Wayne County.
PCHS will host a region play date Wednesday, September 7 before traveling Saturday, September 10 to Kingsland to face Camden County and Valdosta.
