Blake James has been appointed as Pierce County’s new public safety director.
County Manager Raphel Maddox recently announced James’ hire.
As public safety director, James will be tasked with administrative assistance and oversight of the county’s E-911, Emergency medical service (EMS), fire and emergency management agency (EMA).
James, 29, is a life-long resident of Pierce County.
For the past two years he has served as director of Pierce County EMS. Prior to that, he served as field operations manager for MedTrust EMS.
He and his wife, Bailey, have one son, Camden, and live in Blackshear.
