Eagle Station will get more parking under a land deal approved by the Patterson City Council last Thursday night.
The council voted to purchase 0.55 acres of land from Nora Dale Leggett and the Thelma Thomas Estate in the amount of $16,500. The property sits at the corner of Hyers and Martin Streets next door to the Eagle Station complex.
The property is a vacant lot without structures, but does have pine trees on it.
The lot will be utilized for parking for Eagle Station events.
The council voted unanimously to authorize Mayor Dedi Thomas to enter in to a contract/agreement for purchase of the land.
In addition to the purchase price, the city will also pay closing costs and a prorated portion of property taxes for 2024.
The county has the property appraised at $5,500.
Councilman Jim Echols asked for confirmation of the purchase price, but did not make any additional comments.
All council members voted in favor of the motion.
