Hello!
We have a young man who has been missing from our community. We have all seen Richard Davis dancing on the street corner and playing his music. He also rides his bike. Richard Davis loves to talk and he meets no stranger. Richard Davis was in the hospital recently and we have an update on him. He is currently living with his son, Richard Davis Jr., in New Jersey. He is doing well. Our Times staff writer Greg O’Driscoll wrote a story about Richard last year. Richard was so excited about being on the front page. This is what he said to Greg in the story: “I’m dancing not because I want to impress nobody,” Davis explains, “When I get to a state of depression or frustration I dance. I let it out. I’m doing it for the love of God,” Davis says of his dancing, “Because God blessed me to do what I want to do. I’m 66 years old and retired.” He was so excited, he brought extra copies of The Blackshear Times. Richard Davis is a poet. He has spoken at funerals using his talent. Let’s keep him in our prayers. ***** Please keep all the sick and bereaved in your prayers. ***** Gathering of Warriors Fellowship will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, August 22-Friday, August 23.
