Sheriff’s Report

• Cody Tyler Morris, 28, was arrested Monday, July 29 and charged with trafficking cocaine, illegal drugs, fentanyl and possession of stolen firearms.

Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Unit Sergeant Jacob Winters, Investigator Wayne Mercer, Investigator Greg Nettles, and Investigator Cory Belue executed a search warrant in Pierce County resulting in the arrest of Morris.

• Donald Sean Merritt, 42, was arrested Saturday, August 3 and charged with possession of methamphetamine, two counts of obstruction, two counts of terrorist threats and acts and possession and use of drug related objects.

K-9 Sgt. Michael James and Deputy Landon Ryals conducted a traffic stop resulting in the arrest of Merritt.

• Samuel Wayne Thompson, 41, was arrested Saturday, August 3 and charged with aggravated battery and riot in penal institution.

ACE Unit Investigator Wayne Mercer responded to a government office in Pierce County resulting in the arrest of Thompson.

• James Anthony McClellan, 48, was arrested Wednesday, August 7 and charged with impersonating a public officer or employee and unauthorized practice of law forbidden.

Deputy Matthew Edwards and Sgt. Donald Shuman responded to a government office in Pierce County resulting in the arrest of McClellan.

• Guy Richard Monighetti, 28, was arrested Thursday, August 8 and charged with aggravated stalking.

• John Allen Gill, 51, was arrested Saturday, August 10 and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession and use of drug related objects, driving while license suspended or revoked, failure to keep in proper lane and probation violation.

Deputy Hunter Griffin conducted a traffic stop in Pierce County resulting in the arrest of Gill.

• Thomas Nathan Sweat, 40, was arrested Sunday, August 11 and charged with aggravated assault.

Deputy Jacob Holmes, Sergeant Bruce Burrows, ACE Unit Sergeant Jacob Winters and Investigator Wayne Mercer responded to a residence in Pierce County resulting in the arrest of Sweat.
