Kevin Ernest Crawford

Kevin Ernest Crawford, 61, of Blackshear, passed away early Saturday afternoon, August 10, 2024, at the Hospice Satilla Hospice House in Waycross, following an extended illness.

Born January 24, 1963, in Columbus, Mississippi, he was a son of Wendy Iris Fielding Crawford and the late Barney Mack Crawford. He lived most of his life in Pierce County and was a 1981 graduate of Blackshear High School.

A veteran of the United States Air Force, he rose to the rank of Sergeant and served as an Apprentice Ground Radio Communications Specialist for two years and as a vehicle operator/ dispatcher for four years. He also served with Crawford

the 1973 Communications Group.

After his discharge from the military, he was a mechanic for Swisher International in Waycross and Jacksonville and a coiler operator for Simmons Mattress Company.

He was a member of Rehobeth Baptist Church and enjoyed playing pool, attending craft fairs, designing tie dye shirts, and caring for sick, injured or orphaned wildlife as a state certified rehabilitator.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two wives, Tina Gano and Cheryl Ingalls.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Davis Crawford, Blackshear; four children, Tiffaney Dryden (fiancé Brandon Perry), Rincon, Ashley Brown (husband Craig), Jeremy Mucklow (wife Lucy), and Jesse Mucklow, all of Wichita, KS; two grandchildren, Madison James and Miley Brown; mother, Wendy Crawford, Blackshear; two sisters, Teresa Allen, Alma and Cheryl Dubose, Blackshear; mother of his children, Robin Gadsen, Wichita, Kansas and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, from the chapel of Hart Funeral Home.

Interment followed in the Shiloh Cemetery.

Members of the Blackshear High School Class of 1981 served as honorary pallbearers.
