Nicholas “Nick” Strickland is Patterson’s new police chief.
Strickland was hired as the city’s new chief during a called meeting of the Patterson City Council last Thursday afternoon.
The decision came following a closed session to discuss personnel.
Strickland, 31, had been serving as interim chief since May, following the resignation of former chief Darrell Dixon.
Chief Strickland has worked with the Patterson Police Department for two-and-a-half years. He has worked in law enforcement for about 10 years.
Strickland and his wife, Rhiannon, have a daughter, Bristyl.
Patterson has a threeman department including School Resource Officer Sidney Dixon.
