CC Stephens Amvets Post 621 to meet The C.C. Stephens Amvets Post 621 will meet the second Saturday of each month at the post on Ossie Davis Parkway in Waycross. Amvets is open to retired veterans in the area. The meeting will be at 9 a.m. The new Amvet Riders Chapter will meet at 10 a.m. and the ladies auxiliary group will meet at 11 a.m.

Red Cross blood drives

The American Red Cross has scheduled the following blood drives in Pierce County: August 13, 1-6 p.m. at the Southeast Georgia Regional Agricultural Center Building (formerly the NFC Building), 705 College Avenue, Blackshear.

September 10, 1-6 p.m. at the Southeast Georgia Regional Agricultural Center Building (formerly the NFC Building), 705 College Avenue, Blackshear.

Memorial Satilla to host blood drive

Memorial Satilla Health will host a blood drive from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, August 8, at the hospital annex, 1800 Alice Street, Waycross.

Donors of all blood types are needed to keep a stable blood supply throughout the year. Up to $70 in rewards will be available to those giving blood.

Memorial Satilla has partnered with The Blood Connection to host six blood drives this year. The upcoming blood drive schedule is as follows: October 10 and December 12. All drives are held from 10 a.m – 3 p.m. in the annex cafetorium, 1800 Alice Street.
