Kathryn Ann Hendrix

BLACKSHEAR — Kathryn Ann Hendrix, 69, of Blackshear, died Thursday evening, February 2, 2023 at Harborview Health Systems-Pierce County after a brief illness. S

She was born in Waycross to the late Charles Edwin Hendrix and Ollie Faye Haney Hendrix.

Kathryn had made Waycross and Blackshear her home for her entire life. She was a graduate of Ware County High School and Okefenokee Technical College. She grew up in Williams Chapel Baptist Church in Waycross, and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse forMemorial Hospital. Kathryn was preceded in death by her father, Charles Edwin Hendrix, and her mother, Ollie Faye Haney Hendrix.

Kathryn is survived by her sister, Cynthia Hendrix of Blackshear; one nephew, Jacob Gibbs and his wife, Susan; two nieces, Jennifer Wingo and her husband, Frank; Angela Field and her husband; Jimmy; 14 great nieces and nephews, Jacob Pittman, Marley Gibbs, Ryan Pittman, Holly Gibbs, Eli Pittman, Malik Gibbs, Mabrey Wingo, Matthew Wingo, Carter Wingo, Caylee Wingo, Ellie Wingo, Elena Wingo, Erica Field and Ian Field; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday February 10, 2023 in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
