WAYCROSS — Grady Lee “Pete” Crawford, Jr., 78, of Waycross died Friday morning, January 6, 2023, at Harborview Satilla after an extended illness.
Mr. Crawford was born in Waycross to the late Grady Lee Crawford, Sr. and Edith Juanita Collins Crawford, and made Ware County his home for most of his life. He retired from Swisher cigar factory, and enjoyed fishing and eating fish. He also loved to garden, and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Clark Crawford, and a brother, Danny Crawford.
Mr. Crawford is survived by five siblings, Delores Gibson (husband Martin) of Woodbury, Ga., David Crawford (wife Reta) of Waycross, Janice Sweat (husband LaDon) of Millwood, Teresa Smith (husband Howard) of South Carolina, Tommy Crawford (wife Trudy) of West Virginia; a sister-in-law, Sharon Crews of Hoboken; as well asnumerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 10 in Kettle Creek Cemetery.
