William Ronald Cox

WAYCROSS — Mr. William Ronald “Ronnie” Cox, 75, died Saturday night, December 31, 2022, at his residence in Waycross.

He was a native of Clinch County, but lived most of his life in Ware County. He retired from Scott Housing as a forklift operator, but he also was formerly employed by Cauley Meat Packing and St. Regis-Allied.

Ronnie enjoyed fishing, woodworking and fixing lawn mowers. He was a member of Ware Baptist Church.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Cox and Nancy L. Herrin Cox; his granddaughter, Nicole Cox; and sister, Ruby Lee Brannen.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Verdie Corbitt Cox of Waycross; two children, Timmy Cox and Marsha Bryson (Kelly) both of Waycross; grandson, Hayden Cox; sister, Evelyn O’Neal of Nahunta; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Marty James, Mervin Joiner, the Rev. Chris Robinson and Dan Spires.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. today (Wednesday, January 4) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Suwannee Chapel Cemetery in Manor. The family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m. at the funeral homeprior to the service.
