Barbara Jean Aspinwall Morgan

BLACKSHEAR — Mrs. Barbara Jean Aspinwall Morgan, age 74, of Blackshear, passed away early Monday morning, January 2, 2023, at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville following a short illness.

Born April 15, 1948, in Wayne County, she was a daughter of the late Mage Mathew and Ela Mae Sloan Aspinwall. She had lived most of her life in Pierce County, and had worked as a CNA with Pierce County Home Health. She attended many years at Youmans Chapel Baptist Church, but had recently attended Abundant Life Christian Center in Blackshear.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Allen King, second husband, John H. Morgan, and her third husband, Joseph Perritt; a son, Anthony Allen King; sister, Shirley Aspinwall Peacock; and brother, Bobby Aspinwall.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbee Smoot (husband Larry, Retired Staff Sgt. U.S. Army) of Killeen, Texas, and son, Tim King (wife Peggy) of Blackshear; four grandsons, Levi Taylor and Trent Taylor (wife Ofelia Mata), both of Killeen, Texas, and Jonathan King (wife Kaitlyn) of Waycross, and Mathew King of Blackshear; three great grandchildren, Peyton Mata, Logan Taylor, and Gabriel King; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 6 in the chapel of Hart Funeral Home. Burial followed in Waters Cemetery.

The family received friends Thursday evening, January 5 at the funeral home.
