MANOR — Jamie Adams Carmichael, 79, of Manor died Saturday morning, January 28, 2023 at Memorial Satilla Health after a brief illness.
Mrs. Carmichael was born in Vienna, Ga. to the late Felder W. Adams and Luna Highsmith Adams, and made Manor her home for most of her life.
She worked as a bookkeeper for the Manor School and eventually retired from the Ware County Board of Education as the bookkeeper at Wacona Elementary School. She enjoyed cooking, watching cooking shows, and loved her grandchildren. She was a longtime member of Manor United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Allen Carmichael and a grandson, Jamie Carmichael.
Mrs. Carmichael is survived by two sons, James Allen Carmichael, Jr. (wife Bobbie) of Dawson, Ga., Jon Andrew Carmichael of Axson; six grandchildren, Heather Callahan (husband Chris) of Waresboro, Hope Thomas (husband Justin) of Douglas, Jon Andrew Carmichael (wife Kimberly Hope) of Axson, Adam Scott Carmichael of Mt. Airy, Georgia, Jalynn Carmichael of Axson, Logan Carmichael of Axson; nine great grandchildren, Drew Carmichael, Myree Carmichael, Wesley Carmichael, Aria Carmichael, Madyson Carmichael, Lily Carmichael, Jaylee Thomas, Calli Callahan, Charlie Callahan; five siblings, John Adams (wife Rose) of Hahira, Ga., Wayne Adams (wife Shelby) of Florida, Sandra Fielding (husband Jim) of Hahira, Beverly Barlow (husband Bill) of St. Marys, Ga., Kenneth Adams (wife Carol) of Texas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January, 31 at Manor United Methodist Church. Burial followed in New Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery in Manor. The family received friends Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the church.
