WAYCROSS — William Harold Day, a long-time resident of Waycross, went to be with the Lord Friday, December 30, 2022, at the age of 87 after a brief illness.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Paula Gainous Day; two daughters, Rebecca Tucker (Richard) of Birmingham, Ala., and Kim Caton (Jay) of Duncan, S.C.; and one grandson, Eli Caton. He also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Betty Day of Blakely; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He served the Lord vocationally through ministry at Central Baptist Church in Akron, Ohio, as the minister of youth and education, also at the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home in Baxley, and then finished his career serving as the Assistant Administrator at Baptist Village in Waycross for 25 years.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He loved to laugh, read, work in the yard, could fix pretty much anything, and enjoyed traveling in his retirement until his health made that difficult. Most of all he loved spending quality time with his family.
