The Pierce County High School competition cheer team placed first with a score of 95 at their first competition of the season at West Laurens High School Saturday, Sept. 17.
“The routine had some timing issues but overall it was a great performance for the first competition,” said Coach Mandy Beverly.
The team also earned the highest score out of all 2A teams that competed that day, which Coach Beverly recognized as an accomplishment this early in the season.
Last Saturday, Sept. 24, the team won with a 96.5 score at the Blueberry Cheer Classic in Bacon County.
Beverly reported the team spent a week focusing on the lowest parts of their scoresheets from West Laurens to acheive their improvement at Bacon. The team’s next stop is Wayne County this Saturday, October 1.
