Blood donors can get in “Beach Mode” as summer vacation nears at this month’s Waycross Exchange Club blood drive.
The Red Cross is giving away a free beach towel while supplies last.
This month’s drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday, May 22 at the Waycross Exchange Club Fairgrounds, 2401 Knight Avenue.
Building up a healthy supply of emergency blood is important with summer coming on strong, said Tina Etheridge of the Red Cross.
“The annual summer slump means fewer donations will be collected in the weeks ahead,” she said. “So we need as many donors as possible at the May drive.”
Corporate Sponsors Ryland Environmental and Gibson Animal Clinic will provide $100s in door prize cash to be won by blood donors.
Free refreshments are provided by Waycross Coca-Cola and Domino’s Pizza for donors.
The Waycross Area Blood Drive Volunteers will be on hand to greet and assist the local blood donors during their visit.
