Rick Tucker

FORSYTH — Rick Tucker, 67, of Forsyth, Ga., passed away peacefully on May 22, 2023.

He was a native of Waycross, and was preceded in death by his parents, C.L. and Daisy Tucker of Waycross, and brother, Tommy of Hoboken.

Tucker was an educator for 41 years serving as a band director in Ware County and Henry County, and later as an educational administrator. He was a three-time graduate of Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Music, Master of Education, and Education Specialist degrees. He was a member of the Community Bible Church in Stockbridge, Ga. He was an avid NFL fan and a Dallas Cowboy fanatic. He enjoyed gardening, music, reading, and spending time with his dog, Bandit.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years Mary Ann Tucker of Forsyth, Ga.; sons Kirk (Kaitlyn) of Fayetteville, Ga.; Troy (Ayrn) of Valley, Ala., and grandchildren Jaxson, Tyler, and Zoey of Fayetteville, Ga.; sister Gale (Charles) Kurtz of Waycross; brothers John (Nancy) Tucker of Dekalb, Ill., Bo Tucker of Waycross, Larry (Dolly) of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister-in-law Jeanette Tucker of Hoboken; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Turner’s wishes, no services are planned at this time. Those who wish to make a memorial contribution may donate to a charity of their choice or to the American Heart Association.
