Imogene Sports Hodges

ASHVILLE, Ala. —Imogene Sports Hodges went home to her Savior April 20, 2023. She died peacefully at her home in Ashville, Ala., where she resided with her daughter Sherry Daniel and son-in-law, Steve. Mrs. Hodges was born March 9, 1929 in Waycross to Marcus Lafayette Sports and Estella Ogden Sports. She was the sixth of eight children. Mrs. Hodges was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Marvin E. Hodges, Sr.; three brothers, Harry Sports, J.E. Sports and Robert Sports; three sisters, Mary Burch, Ernestine Davis and JoAnn Mobley. She is survived by her oldest sister, Virginia Taylor; a son, Marvin Hodges Jr. (Kyong Hui) of Dothan, Ala.; a daughter, Sherry Daniel (Steve) of Ashville, Ala.; four grandchildren, James Hodges of Dothan, Ala., Kevin Daniel (Elizabeth), Kerri Chiarella (Jared) and Kimberly Goodwin (Chad), all of Springville, Ala.; seven great grandchildren, Avery, Leah and Elliott Daniel, Owen and Emma Chiarella, and Carter and Max Goodwin. Mrs. Hodges was a loving and caring wife and mother. She taught us many things about faith and trusting in the Lord by how she lived her life. We will miss her so much. A graveside service was held Tuesday, April 25 at Greenlawn Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.musicfuneralhome.com.
