WAYCROSS — Wanda Faye Boyd, 58, of Waycross died Tuesday morning, March 21, 2023 at Memorial Satilla Health after a brief illness. Mrs. Boyd was born in Waycross to the late Violas and Nancy Jane Ott Boyd. She had made Waycross her home for all of her life. Mrs. Boyd was a homemaker, and avid Georgia Bulldog fan. She loved the outdoors, plants, gardening and faithfully watching Remnant Church services online. Along with her parents, Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by two brothers, Tony “Fly” Boyd and Keith Allen “Dusty” Boyd; and three sisters, Rhonda Boyd, Marie Sanders and Linda “Tinaboo” Smith. Mrs. Boyd is survived by her son, Shane Boyd and his wife, Jennifer, of Millwood; three grandchildren, Kobie Turner, Kloie Turner and Tyler Boyd; a great-grandson, Khari Turner; a sister, Sandy Baughan and her husband, Kent, of Millwood; her former husband, Mark Brett of Waycross; close friends, Larry Watson and Penny Davis; and numerous other relatives. A funeral service was held Thursday, March 23 in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Swamp Road Baptist Church Cemetery.
