HOBOKEN — Reba Crews Rush, 84, of Hoboken, passed away Sunday morning, March 12, 2023, at Hospice Satilla Hospice House after a short illness.
Ms. Rush was born in Hoboken to the late Lloyd William and Eula Brooks Crews and lived most of her life in Jacksonville, Fla.
Along with her parents, Ms. Rush was preceded in death by one daughter, Glenda Rush Calbert; siblings, Oradel Jacobs, Eldon Crews, Mary Lou McKinny, Fannie Sapp, Eugene Crews, Lizzie Mae Howard, Myra Sapp and Helen Raulerson.
Ms. Rush was a hairdresser and was a member of Williams Chapel Baptist Church. She always enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include one grandson, David Calbert and his wife Heather of Clover, S.C.; two great-grandchildren, Jace and Riley; two special nieces, Heather Thomas and her husband, Cecil, and their daughters, Emma and Kate of Waycross, and Jeanette Tucker of Hoboken; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
A funeral service will be held today (Wednesday, March 15) at 3 p.m., at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Rowell officiating. Burial will follow in Hoboken Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon beginning at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Ben Tucker, Jamey Tucker, Hank Tucker, Chris Davis, Kenny Davis and Cecil Thomas.
