Leta Ann Nobles Varnadore

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Mrs. Leta Ann Nobles Varnadore, 84, died Thursday morning, July 27, 2023, at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla., after a brief illness.

She was born April 7, 1939 in Coffee County to the late Dan Nobles and Bonnie Dubberly Nobles. Mrs. Varnadore graduated from Nicholls High School in 1957. She was formerly employed as a paraprofessional teacher at the Nicholls School from 1973 until 1984. In 1984, she went to work for South Georgia College in Waycross as the campus police officer and she retired in 2000. She was a member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include two daughters, Tammy Smith (Robert “Bobby”) of Palmetto, Fla., and Ramona Music (Daniel) of Waycross; two grandchildren, Jennifer Music Carter and William Daniel Music (April); great grandchildren, Brody Carter, Braxton Music and Braylee Music; brother, Mac Nobles of Nicholls; sister, Sylvia Alford of Nicholls; and several nephews and other relatives.  

A funeral service was held  Saturday afternoon, July 29 at the Music Funeral Home Chapel.  

Burial followed in Greenlawn Cemetery.
