WAYCROSS — Mrs. Eloise Herrin Cox, 95, of Waycross, died Tuesday morning, May 30, 2023 at Baptist Village Retirement Communities.
She was born in Cogdell to the late Vernie Levi Herrin and Rebecca Corbitt Herrin.
Mrs. Cox had made Ware County her home for the majority of her life. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed any moment she was able to spend with her family. Mrs. Cox especially enjoyed the times she was able to go camping with her husband.
Mrs. Cox was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Owen Cox, Sr.; and her son, Larry Dwayne Cox.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Owen Cox, Jr., and his wife, Judy, of Waycross, Barry Lee Cox and his wife, Michelle, of Waycross; seven grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; her best friend and cousin, Louise Mullins and her husband, J.W., of Waycross; and numerous other relatives.
A funeral service was held Thursday, June 1 in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial followed in Lang Cemetery in Clinch County.
