Dorothy Mae Lee Davis Hickox Hall

OKEECHOBEE, Fla. — Dorothy Mae Lee Davis Hickox Hall, age 83, of Okeechobee, Fla., passed away Friday, June 16, 2023, at Okeechobee Healthcare Facility surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Hall was born August 19, 1939, in Winokur, Ga., to Elemuel Jackson Lee and Betty Irene Hendrix Lee. She lived most of her life in Hickox/Winokur, before moving to Okeechobee with her husband, Charles.

Mrs. Hall was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her sweet demeanor was most cherished by her family. She enjoyed working, gardening, crossword puzzles, cooking, and most of all, spending time surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Earnest W. Davis and Charles Jonathan Hickox Jr.; her sisters, Mary Lee and Mattie Lee; and two sons-in-law, Gary Cason and Scottie Ray Dubel.

Survivors include her husband, Mark Nelson Hall of Okeechobee; her children, Brenda Josie Davis, Irene Davis Cason, Jeffrey Davis all of Waycross, Earnest Billy Davis of Okeechobee, John Charles Hickox (Robin) of Panama City, Fla., and Annita Dubel Ferrante (Walter) of Fort Pierce, Fla.; her grandchildren, Kristi Gilbert, Scott Dixon, Kenny Dixon, Christopher Leggett, Kayla Dubel Cavalli, Keith Dubel, and Brandon Hickox; her step grandchildren, Pepper Pittman (Derek), Lonnie Cason (Sheryl); 16 great grandchildren, Braiden Gilbert, Brantley Gilbert, Chris Leggett Jr, MacKayla and McKenzie Leggett, Alexis and Cassie Dixon, Emma Leggett, Alex Dubel, Chesney Powell, Ariana Pate, Ben Dubel, Thoraya and Abraham Cavalli, and Noah and Naomi Hickox; her brothers, M.D. Lee (Barbara), Farley Lee (Kay); her sisters, Shirley Wainwright (Ronnie), Bertha Dixon (Dennie); a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

A memorial service was held Saturday, June 17 at the Okeechobee Civic Center.

A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, June 21) at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Waycross.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the service  at the church.

Burial will follow at High Bluff Cemetery in Hoboken.
