VALDOSTA — Mr. Ronald Earl Dennard, Sr., 70, of Waycross died Thursday, July 13, 2023, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta after an extended illness.
He was born in Cocoa Beach, Fla., to the late James Edgar Dennard and Margaret Alice Osborne Dennard. He spent his early life in Cocoa Beach and Waycross until his enlistment into the United States Marine Corps.
He served in the Marines during the Vietnam War. He also lived in Jacksonville, Fla., before settling back in Waycross in 2006.
Dennard was a master mechanic who loved to fish, hunt and ride his Harley Davidson Motorcycle.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Audrey Garrett.
Dennard is survived by four children, Ronald Earl Dennard, Jr., and his wife, Becky, of Waycross, Ronald Shane Barnes and his wife, Krystal, of Waycross, James Curtis Dennard of Screven, and Christopher Dennard of Crystal River, Fla.; grandchildren, Klara Barnes, Kane Barnes, Maddelyn Grace Dennard, Chrislyn Faith Dennard, Zachary Moore and his wife, Lexi, Leigh Ann Ard, Nikki Breola, Emma Lynn Dennard, Grant Chancellor; brother and sisters, Curtis Dennard, Kim Dennard, and Melissa Dennard; a special aunt, Cherrie Beauregard and her husband, Larry, of Dixie Union; and numerous other relatives.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., today (Wednesday, July 19) in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow in Kettle Creek Cemetery.
