Johnny B. Bailey

WAYCROSS — Mr. Johnny B. Bailey, 74, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023 at his residence in Waycross following an extended illness.

Bailey was born in Lakeland to the late Seaborn Bailey and Inez Dampier Bailey.  

He was employed with Proko Industries for many years and attended Pine Valley Southern Congregational Methodist Church. He also served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

In addition to his parents Bailey was also preceded in death by 10 siblings, Flora Mae Brogdon, Sim E. Bailey, William G. Bailey, Evelyn Barber, Earl “Bud” Bailey, LaVann Storey, Faye Murray, Dona Inez Shiver, Buster Bailey and Ronald Bailey.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine Bailey of Waycross; two sons, Jerry Bryan Bailey (Debbie) of Blackshear and Jason Benjamin Bailey of Waycross; seven grandchildren, Dillon Bailey (Katy) of Tifton, Morgan Delk (Gregory) of Waycross, Jace L. Bailey of Waycross, Ashton Herndon of Waycross, Parker Cox of Waycross, Clista Williams of Waycross and Evie Crosby of Waycross; three great grandchildren, Ella Jane Bailey of Tifton, Brooklyn Williams of Waycross and Briggs Williams of Waycross; three siblings, Mary Mixon (J.D.) of Manor, Barbara Moore (Tim) of Manor and Bruce Bailey (Cheryl) of Moniac, Ga.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was  held Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at the Music Funeral Home Chapel.  

Burial followed in Pine Valley Southern Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery.
