WAYCROSS — Mr. Eddie Wayne Stone, 67, died Saturday, December 17, 2022 at his residence.
Stone was a native and lifelong resident of Waycross. He retired from the Ware State Prison as a correctional officer.
Stone was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Stone, and his mother, Johnnie Mae Swain.
Survivors include two daughters, Kristy Sheffield and Jessica McIntosh (Tony Powers), both of Millwood; grandchildren, Harley Sheffield and Addilyn McIntosh; great aunt, Letia Dunsmore of Waycross; brothers, Steve Swain (Pam Cox), Christopher Swain (Stephanie) and Darrell Swain (Cindy); nephews, Christopher Swain, Jr., Matthew Swain and Zachary Swain; niece Alexis Swain; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, December 20 at the Music Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial followed in Oakland Cemetery.
