Sampson Lee

WARESBORO — Sampson Lee, 95, of Waresboro died Wednesday evening, December 14, 2022, at Baptist Village Nursing Home after a brief illness.

Mr. Lee was born in Manor to the late Rob and Annie Fitchett Lee and made Ware County his home for most of his life. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army, and retired from Baptist Village as a security guard. He enjoyed gardening, tinkering outside, and was a member of Mt. Green Church of God of Prophecy.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy O’Berry Lee; a grandson, Wayne Lee, Jr.; nine siblings, Cleo Gilliard, Vera Gilliard, Ruth Lee, Era Fulford, J.L. Lee, Robert “Buster” Lee, Ophelia Lee, Betty Ann Lee and Nola Smith.

Mr. Lee is survived by three sons, Sammy Lee (wife Kay) of Waycross, Freddie Lee (wife Betty Ann) of Waycross and Allen Lee (wife Shirley) of Blackshear; seven grandchildren, Ginger Barnett (husband David) of Waycross, Melissa Greaves (husband Damien) of Puerto Rico, Melinda Lee of Jacksonville, Fla., Keith Lee (wife Jessica) of Virginia, Terry Lee (wife Mia) of Waycross, Adam Lee of Waresboro, and Kevin Lee (wife Jessica) of Waycross; 19 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Memorialization is by Cremation.
