WAYCROSS — Mr. Donald H. “Big Donnie”
Price, 69, of Waycross died Friday afternoon, December 16, at Memorial Satilla Health after an extended illness.
He was born in Waycross to the late Alphine Price Waters and was the stepson of Dewey Waters.
Price had made Waycross his home for his entire life. A master mechanic, he worked for Bowen Service Station in Waycross. His passion was racing, and for more than 20 years Price worked for Waycross Motor Speedway and enjoyed every minute of his time there. He was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Music Price; his son, Donnie L. “Little Donnie” Price; one sister, Wanda Faye Cox; and two brothers, David Russell and Billy Waters.
Price is survived by his daughter, Macy Price of Waycross; three grandchildren, Timothy Daniels and his wife, Kaitlyn, Tyler Daniels, and Ida Daniels; four great-grandchildren, Timothy, Sarah, Kieley and Kyshon; five sisters, Debbie Haney and her husband, Tony, Linda Strickland and her husband, Buddy, Geneva Cox and her husband, Gideon, Hazel King and her husband, Bill, Mary Lee Waters, and Sandra and her husband, John; two brothers, Charles Waters and Randy Bond; his close friend, Cindy Goble; and numerous other relatives.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, December 21) in High Bluff Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
